In conjunction with the survey, 9 national JA organisations in Europe will host a series of innovation workshops to shed light on what matters to European youth.
Innovation Workshops across Europe
The workshop series is designed to discover and draw out young people’s thoughts, their expectations, and their dreams about the European Union. It is nothing less than a sustained effort to find out ‘why Europe matters’ to young Europeans and, having found out, to engage with decision takers and prompt responses from them.
For JA Europe and the European Round Table of Industrialists, it’s critically important that this project has meaningful outcomes. That’s why the workshops have been designed to generate concrete recommendations for policymakers.
From each national workshop, the ideas and suggestions of Why Europe Matters will be brought forward in the final innovation workshop in Brussels. The results of the Why Europe Matters survey will also be presented. The Brussels workshop will involve volunteers from participating ERT companies, and is planned to take place in the Schuman area with the final ideas presented to policymakers (e.g. MEPs, Commission, Council) and ERT Members or their representatives as a starting point for a dialogue between them. .
Four participants from each national workshop will bring all the ideas to a final summarizing workshop in Brussels. Based on knowledge and content developed in all workshops, the Brussels workshop will be a “channel” for all young participants towards decision makers at the European and national level.
